The provisions of the draft Affordable Housing Preservation Ordinance will be presented and discussed.
The creation of an Affordable Housing Preservation Ordinance was one of seven actions the San Diego City Council approved October 27, 2020, to implement a strategy for affordable housing preservation. The draft ordinance is intended to expand on the rights granted through state law. The provisions of the draft ordinance seek to ensure housing opportunities for very low-, low-, and moderate-income households are not permanently removed from the housing stock.
