The San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) partners with developers to build new affordable rental homes and rehabilitate existing buildings to preserve affordable rental housing in the City of San Diego.
These rental housing units generally remain affordable for at least 55 years for households that meet certain San Diego Area Median Income (AMI) limits.
SDHC performs a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Lender
- Multifamily Housing Revenue Bond issuer
- Administrator of City of San Diego affordable housing programs
Land Use Application Fees
SDHC collects fees from applicants to cover the administrative costs associated with the City of San Diego land use programs that SDHC administers: Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Bonus, Complete Communities, Density Bonus, Inclusionary Housing, North City Future Urbanizing Area (NCFUA), Dwelling Unit Protections, and Coastal Overlay Zone Affordable Housing replacement.
Application fees will be adjusted, effective July 1, 2024, based on findings from a fee study that MGT Consulting Group conducted.
