HDP Board & Committee Meetings
SDHC’s Nonprofit Affiliate
SDHC established its nonprofit affiliate, Housing Development Partners (HDP), in 1990. HDP develops and preserves affordable housing for San Diegans with low income through the rehabilitation of existing buildings and new construction.
Rental housing for seniors, families, veterans, workers and residents with special needs are among the developments in HDP’s real estate portfolio.
HDP is staffed by SDHC employees. HDP is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, which consists of SDHC’s President & CEO, two members of the SDHC Board of Commissioners, one member of the Housing Authority of the City of San Diego, and one at-large community member.
The SDHC Board of Commissioners designates which SDHC Commissioners and community member serve on HDP’s Board of Directors. The San Diego City Council President appoints the Housing Authority member who serves on the HDP Board of Directors, subject to confirmation by the San Diego City Council.
