Success Story |
Anna
is a resident of one of SDHC's affordable
housing communities. Until last year,
Anna worked as an electronics assembler. Knowing
she wanted more for herself and her 13-year-old
son, she turned to SDHC's Family
Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program.
With
help from staff, she chose a career path, built
a career plan, and completed a training program
to become a Certified Building Maintenance
Technician. She recently landed a full-time job
in her new field at a local hospital. With
higher wages and full health benefits,
Anna's future is bright.
Through its FSS programs, SDHC helps more
than 500 families each year to achieve
economic independence.
