These complexes may have received housing assistance from Federal, State or Local agencies including the San Diego Housing Commission, or not-for-profit organizations. The form of that housing assistance may result in the units being available at affordable prices for varying lengths of time. Please contact these housing providers directly, or call the San Diego HUD office at 619.557.5305 for more information. The San Diego Housing Commission does not own, manage or regulate these housing complexes. If you become aware that any of these complexes are not longer being offered at affordable rents, please contact the San Diego Housing Commission so that this listing may be updated. These complexes received grants or below-market interest rate loans from HUD and are required to maintain some or all of their units at affordable rents. Rent restrictions vary from complex to complex. Rent is often calculated at 30 percent of gross monthly household income. Some of these complexes are restricted to elderly or disabled households, while others are primarily for families with children. The terms of the HUD assistance allows some of these complexes to convert to market-rate rents under certain circumstances. Ask the owner/operator what the terms of the rent restrictions are and how long they will be in effect. |
